Two motorcyclists have been killed in separate accidents over the weekend in the North.

Two motorcyclists have been killed in separate accidents over the weekend in the North.

In one incident a 44-year-old man who was involved in a crash on the Deerpark Road in Bellaghy, Co Derry died, police said.

The accident was reported to police at about 8.30pm last night.

In an earlier incident a 49-year-old man riding a motorbike died after a crash in Cushendun, Co Antrim.

Police said the man’s bike crashed into a Suzuki SX4 on the Loughareema Road at about 10.35am on Saturday morning.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to both incidents.

Twenty-six people have died on Northern Ireland’s roads this year, five of them riding motorbikes.

Fifty-six people were killed on the roads in the North last year.
