A motorcyclist in his 40s has been killed in County Kildare.

A motorcyclist in his 40s has been killed in County Kildare.

The single-vehicle crash happened on the R413, Nicholastown Kilcullen Road between Kilcullen village and Mile Mill at around 1am this morning.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination.

The latest statistics on road deaths, compiled at the end of last week, showed that by last Friday 15 motorcyclists had been killed on the roads this year.
