Molly Malone is moving her wheelbarrow through the streets broad and narrow, as the iconic statue is on the move to make way for Luas works in Dublin city centre.

She is not going far: just around the corner to the tourist office on Andrew Street.

Grainne Mackin, from Luas Cross Citym said she's not pitching her cart there straight away - and will even get a facelift while the opportunity exists.

"She's going to be taken off the street for a hnumber of weeks, but becasuse of her popularity- because she is so popular with both Irish people and with tourists - as soon as we've cleaned her and repaired her and done some work, she's going to be reinstated," she said.
