The body of a man reported missing from his home in Co Mayo has been found on the banks of the River Moy in Ballina.

Missing man’s body discovered in River Moy

The body of a man reported missing from his home in Co Mayo has been found on the banks of the River Moy in Ballina.

Padraic Sharkey was last seen in the Moy Heights area of Ballina on Thursday last, his remains were discovered just after 12.30pm.

The body of the 61 year-old has been removed to Mayo General Hospital where a post-mortem will take place.
