Minister considering giving new house buyers property tax 'holiday'

It has reported that anyone who buys a new home in the coming months will be exempt from paying the property tax for a number of years.

According to the Irish Independent, Finance Minister Michael Noonan is considering to introduce the measure in December's Budget, as a way to incentivise growth in the property market.

Experts say the property tax holiday would have to last for at least three years in order to incentivise new buyers effectively.
