Micheál Martin is a more popular than Leo Varadkar, a new poll has found.

The latest Sunday Times Behaviour & Attitudes Poll shows the Fianna Fail leader holds an 11-point lead over the Taoiseach when it comes to public satisfaction with party leaders.

Some 54% of those questioned between June 29 and July 11 were satisfied with Micheál Martin - an increase of two points when compared to the last poll.

Leo Varadkar secured 43%, as did Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams.

Labour's Brendan Howlin was one point behind on 42%.

The poll also has Fianna Fáil as the most popular party in the country on 30% support, one point ahead of Fine Gael.

Levels of support for Sinn Féin 18%, Labour 5% and Social Democrats (1%) are unchanged.

Support for the both the Independent Alliance (4%) and the Green Party (2%) has dropped by one percentage point.

Solidarity/PBP has gained one point to 2%.

Other Independents (including Independents 4 Change) remains at 9%.
