Michael Lowry complains about being 'harangued in public' by Alan Kelly
Former Minister Michael Lowry says he is disappointed that his constituency colleague Alan Kelly has "harangued" him in public.
The Environment Minister ruled out any post-election deal with Mr Lowry, but the Independent TD days any talk of a post-election deal is arrogant.
Fine Gael are under pressure after suggestions the former Minister could be approached to prop them up after the election.
The Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin also said he would not do any deal for support from Michael Lowry after the election, who had supported the previous Fianna Fáil led government between 2007-2011.
Speaking to Tipp FM, Michael Lowry says such talk is premature, but he hit out at Minister Kelly.
Mr Lowry said: "You don't expect to be harangued in public by one of your constituency colleagues and from that point of view I was disappointed with Alan Kelly that he couldn't resist the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon.
"This question hasn't arisen, because the election hasn't taken place and when the election is over I will look at the options.
"You know, you could turn it the other way and say because of Labour's track record in Government, I would have to think twice about supporting a government that would include Labour."
The RENUA leader Lucinda Creighton has said the Taoiseach and Tánaiste must show political leadership on the Lowry furore.
She said they must move decisively to end an issue which she says "is now evolving into a major political embarrassment for the Coalition".
Ms Creighton says the "inability of the Taoiseach to give a straight answer" on what should be a simple issue "has turned what should be a fait accompli into a soap opera".
