Met Éireann issues weather warning for Leinster and north-east

There is a weather warning from Met Éireann for this morning.

They have given parts of the north-east a yellow status, which means if you are in Leinster, Cavan and Monaghan you should expect snow and ice.

They have said that parts of Leinster could get up to 5cm of snow.

Vincent O'Shea, a meteorologist with Met Éireann, said: "Frost will gradually thaw during the morning, but we are looking at further wintry showers, hail and snow during the day.

"Even though amounts won't be that large, the showers will be quite frequent, so it will feel like it will be snowing most of the time and that will be followed then tonight by a widespread frost once again."
