An orange weather alert is in place for Atlantic coastal counties.

A status yellow wind warning remains for the east of the country and counties Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Cork, Tipperary, and Waterford.

Forecaster Siobhan Ryan says high winds are here to stay.
