Progressive Democrats leader Michael McDowell says he is confident that voters will favour his party when the General Election comes around.

Mr McDowell says over the coming months he will travel around the country and engage more with branches and party members to ensure the PDs select the best candidates.

“When the wind comes, which I believe it will come, behind the two party partners in the present government,” he said, “When the electorate rejects decisively the slump coalition of Enda Kenny, Pat Rabbitte and Trevor Sargent, I believe the wind will come in our sails and we will do very well.”
