Mayo fish feed plant to shut with loss of 22 jobs
Some 22 jobs are to go at a fish feed manufacturing plant in Westport, Co Mayo, it emerged today.
Skretting, the company which owns and operates the plant, said it has no choice but to close because of high operating costs.
Production there had become uneconomic, the company said.
Founded in Norway, Skretting is a subsidiary of international animal and fish feed manufacturer Nutreco.
