It is being reported that Danny Healy-Rae's daughter will take her father's place in Kerry County Council.

Radio Kerry have said that Maura Healy-Rae is to be co-opted onto the County Council, because her father, Danny, was recently elected as a TD.

Danny was elected in the second count in Kerry with 13,286 votes just after his brother Michael Healy-Rae got in on the first count with the most first preference votes in the country, 20,378.

Following his election to the Dáil, Danny Healy-Rae ceased to be a member of Kerry County Council.
