Gardaí are treating the death of a man in Co Cork as murder.
Conor Quinn was fatally injured on a street in the town of Mallow during an altercation on Thursday evening.
The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Bridge Street.
The victim, aged in his mid-20s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Gardaí said they are aware of the "background circumstances" which led up to the altercation. They said they are anxious to speak to a male who they believe was present with Mr Quinn when the fatal incident happened.
Officers carried out a number of searches in the area on yesterday.
A murder probe was formally launched after Gardaí received the results of a post-mortem examination.
Gardaí appealed for anyone who might have dash cam footage from the area between 7.30 and 9.30pm to come forward.
The post-mortem has been completed but details are not being released for operational reasons.

Local resident Martin Mullane says it "just got out of hand."
He said:
They just wouldn't let it go. You see what happens then, one fella ends up dead and the other fella's life is destroyed.
"It is shocking, no town likes to see it on their own doorstep."
The young man has been named locally as Conor Quinn - originally from Galway but living in north Cork.
He was stabbed at Bridge Street at 8.30pm on Thursday evening during an altercation with another young man.
Gardaí sealed off the area and have carried out a number of searches and enquiries.
They are now anxious to speak to a young man who they believe was with him at the time.
Gardaí have also confirmed that they are aware of the circumstances leading up to the stabbing and they are assuring anyone who comes forward with information that they will be dealt with professionally in accordance with the law.
