23-year-old Vincent Morey - who is originally from Gurranabraher but has been living in Bweeng, appeared in court this morning and was remanded in custody for a week.
A man has been charged in connection with an incident in North Cork yesterday in which a woman was threatened at knifepoint and her car was stolen.
The man, aged in his 20s, will be appearing before Cork District Court this morning.
The incident happened when woman was driving to work in the Grenagh area at around 7am yesterday morning.
She saw a man standing on the side of the road and stopped to offer him a lift.
He produced a knife, forced her out of the car and drove off in the direction of Mallow.
The woman, who was uninjured but severely shaken, contacted gardaí and a large-scale search operation was launched.
The car was found crashed nearby and a man was arrested a short time later.
He was taken to Gurranabraher garda station where he was charged in connection with the incident.
He will be brought before Cork District Court at 10.30am this morning.
