A man who was being questioned about a massive drugs haul in Drogheda has been released without charge.

A man who was being questioned about a massive drugs haul in Drogheda has been released without charge.

27kgs of heroin were found when an articulated truck was stopped and searched on the M1 near Drogheda on Thursday night.

A 40-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman, with addresses in the UK, appeared before the courts yesterday evening in connection with the haul and were remanded in custody.

Separately, two men of Colombian nationality appeared before the court charged with possession of drugs for sale or supply following a large cocaine seizure in Donnybrook, Dublin.
