Gardaí have released a man who was arrested in connection with the sale and supply of a drug known as 'scuzz' - which caused up to seven students to be hospitalised earlier this month.

Gardaí have released a man who was arrested in connection with the sale and supply of a drug known as 'scuzz' - which caused up to seven students to be hospitalised earlier this month.

The man had been was detained after Gardaí searched an apartment in the Phibsborough area of Dublin this afternoon.

Quantities of ecstasy, LSD, herbal cannabis and cocaine with a combined estimated street value of €1,000 were seized - along with cash, mobile phones, weighing scales and other drug paraphernalia.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and questioned at Irishtown Garda Station before being released this evening.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. The investigation is ongoing.
