Man pleads guilty to severing victim's hand with sword

A Clonsilla man is to be sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in connection with an attack on a man whose hand was severed by a sword in a Finglas pub.

A Clonsilla man is to be sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in connection with an attack on a man whose hand was severed by a sword in a Finglas pub.

Charles Russell (aged 28), of Whitechapel Road, pleaded guilty to intentionally or recklessly causing Mr Peter Rogers serious harm at The Deputy Mayor Pub, Meekstown on January 13, 2008.

Judge Katherine Delahunt remanded him further in custody until his sentence date next March.
