A man has been killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Co Wicklow this morning. It is understood he was struck by a car after he was involved in a collision on the N11.

A man has been killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Co Wicklow this morning. It is understood he was struck by a car after he was involved in a collision on the N11.

The collision happened at around 7am today on the N11 northbound at the Ashford/Rathnew exit.

It is understood the man, who was in his mid 30s, had left his vehicle when he was hit by another car.

Up to seven vehicles were involved in the incident.

The road is closed pending a technical examination and gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Motorists are advised to take an alternative route as there are long delays in the area.
