A man has been hospitalised in Cork after he jumped over a railway bridge while fleeing a car crash.

A man has been hospitalised in Cork after he jumped over a railway bridge while fleeing a car crash.

It's understood he was involved in a two-car collision on the Lower Glanmire Road at 5.30pm this evening.

Gardaí believe he had been driving a stolen car.

While attempting to escape the scene, the man jumped over a railway bridge and fell six metres, sustaining a number of serious injuries to his legs.

He is being treated at Cork University where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
