A man has been injured in a shooting in Dublin.

Man in 'serious condition' after Dublin shooting

A man has been injured in a shooting in Dublin.

Gardaí said the incident happened at Griffeen Glen Park in Lucan at 1.50pm this afternoon.

A man in his early 40s was shot a number of times while in his car.

He has been removed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown and is said to be in a serious condition.

A burnt-out vehicle could be seen near the scene of the incident on Elm Way.

The road is currently closed and the scene has been preserved for further investigation.
