Man in court over drugs haul

A 25-year-old man was granted bail today when he appeared in court in the North charged with possessing illegal drugs with a street value of £700,000.

A 25-year-old man was granted bail today when he appeared in court in the North charged with possessing illegal drugs with a street value of £700,000.

John Edward Quigley, unemployed, of Ballynahinch Road, Crossgar, Co Down, faced four charges of possessing cannabis, ecstasy and amphetamines with intent to supply.

The magistrates at Newtownards, Co Down, remanded him until next Thursday on bail of £10,000 and two sureties of £5,000 each on condition he reported to police three times a week.

The drugs were seized when police searched a house at Ballynahinch Road, Crossgar, yesterday.
