Emergency services have responded to a stabbing incident in Limerick City.

Man hospitalised following stabbing in Limerick city

A man in his 30s is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in Limerick city.

The incident occurred on Lower Mallow Street at 4pm this afternoon.

Gardaí, including members of the Emergency Response Unit, ambulance and fire service attended the scene.

A Frenchman, also aged in his 30s, has been arrested over the incident.

He is currently in Dock Road Garda Station.
