An investigation has been launched after a woman was assaulted in Dublin's St Stephen's Green yesterday.

An investigation has been launched after a woman was assaulted in Dublin's St Stephen's Green yesterday.

The attack, which happened at 3:30pm, was the second in the area in 12 hours.

A man is still fighting for his life after he was assaulted in an attack near a nightclub on St Stephen's Green just after 3am on Monday.

He is being treated in Beaumont Hospital.

Just hours later, the woman was set upon by a man inside the park.

The man was arrested shortly after and is being held at Pearse Street Garda Station.

The woman was transferred to hospital, but the extent of her injuries is not yet known.
