A man who pushed a British tourist into the sea during the 2011 Tall Ships Festival in Dublin has been jailed for three years.

Colin Ryder had travelled from the UK especially for the festival and was filming some ships at the West Pier in Howth when he was shoved in.

He sank under a boat and was rescued by some swimmers.

27-year-old Thomas Reilly of Enaville Road, North Strand Road in Dublin denied the charge but was convicted by a jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in January.
