Man found dead with stab wounds in Castleknock house

Gardaí are investigating the death of a man at a house in Castleknock in west Dublin overnight.

The body of the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, was found with stab wounds after gardaí were called to a house on Beech Park Avenue in Castleknock, shortly before 2am today.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 34-year-old man was arrested at the house and is being questioned in Blanchardstown garda station.

Gardaí say the scene remains sealed off for a full technical examination this morning. The State Pathologist has been notified.

Meanwhile, two men in their 20s are still being held at Finglas garda station in connection with the suspicious death of a 29-year-old man whose body was found in the bedroom of his apartment at Springmount on the Wellmount Road in Finglas yesterday morning.

The results of a post mortem are due this morning, which Gardaí say will determine the direction of their investigation.
