A man in his 20s is due before the courts this afternoon in connection with a major drug seizure in Carlow.

The man was arrested on Tuesday after a highly sophisticated cannabis grow house was discovered in Killendmond in Borris.

Gardai say the cannabis plants were at a mature stage of growth and have an estimated street value of €250,000.

The man is due to appear before Carlow District Court at 2pm.
