A man has died after being shot in Dublin last night.

A man has died after being shot in Dublin last night.

The shooting happened shortly before 10.30pm last night at Abbeywood Court, Lucan, and a 46-year-old man was seriously injured.

Gardaí said the man was later pronounced dead in Blanchardstown Hospital.

The State Pathologist is to carry out a forensic examination later today.

Gardaí believe a car, that may have been involved in the incident, was found a short time later in Earlsforth Estate, Lucan on fire and has been sealed off for examination.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have may have seen the car or it being parked up to contact them in Lucan on 01 6667300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
