A man has died in a farming accident in Co Cork

It is understood the 37-year-old farmer died yesterday evening after he became overcome by fumes from a slurry tank near Bantry.

It happened at 5.30pm at the farm in Cahermuckee.

The man fell into the slurry tank and it appears he was overcome by fumes.

His father tried to save him, however he was unsuccessful.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are both investigating the incident.
