A 71-year-old man has died following a serious assault in Co Down.

A 71-year-old man has died following a serious assault in Co Down.

Police are investigating after a man was found unconscious in his home at around 10.30am yesterday and was taken to hospital.

The man received treatment for his injuries, but died today.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
