Man dies after falling from fourth-floor window at Mater Hospital

Gardaí are investigating the death of a man in his 50s at the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

The man, who was a patient, fell from a fourth-floor window at the hospital.

The incident occurred at around 12pm yesterday.

Investigations are ongoing but gardai are understood to be treating it as a tragic incident.

A spokesperson said: “Gardai are investigating the death of a man, in his 50s, that occurred on the grounds of a hospital in the Mountjoy area that occurred at approximately 12pm on February 2, 2019.

“The man died as a result of a fall from a fourth-storey window. Investigations are ongoing.”
