A man remains in a critical condition this morning after he was seriously assaulted in Co Meath yesterday afternoon.

A man remains in a critical condition this morning after he was seriously assaulted in Co Meath yesterday afternoon.

The 26-year-old, who is believed to be from Navan, was attacked in the Windtown Road area of the town at around 2pm.

It is understood the attack happened in the driveway of a house.

He remains in intensive care at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. They are also anxious to speak to anyone with information on a silver saloon vehicle that was in the area around the time.
