A man has been charged in Galway in relation to the sale of counterfeit tickets online.
The man , aged in his 20s, was arrested by Gardai after a car was stopped in the Tuam area. A number of counterfeit tickets were recovered and mobile phones seized.
The Gardaí and Ticketmaster are advising people to only purchase tickets from authorised vendors, with gardaí reminding the public that there is "no guarantee" that tickets bought from unofficial sources woul be valid for entry.
Keith English, Managing Director of Ticketmaster Ireland, warned people not to take a chance.
"All tickets entering live events are scanned at the entry point and if your ticket is not valid you won’t gain admittance, you won’t get to enjoy the show and you won’t get your money back,” he said.
