A man has pleaded guilty mid-trial to allowing a Dublin apartment to be used as a brothel.

31-year-old Di Wei - with an address at Dolphin's Barn, South Circular Road - will be sentenced next month.

Before today’s u-turn, Di Wei would only admit that he had bought condoms for the women living in apartments at Rathmines and Custom House Harbour.

He claimed they had a business selling the condoms online, but now he admits allowing the Rathmines apartment that he leased on Observatory Lane to be used as a brothel.

It follows evidence at his trial from six men who went there and paid up to €100 for prostitution services from Asian women.

The jury heard transactions through Di Wei's Permanent TSB bank account show he paid sums to a company called E-designers, which runs a website for Escort Ireland.

He was also present when gardaí raided the Rathmines apartment in April 2011.

Di Wei will be sentenced on February 24.
