A man in his 50s was arrested this morning in connection with the disappearance of Ciara Breen, who has been missing since 1997.

A man in his 50s was arrested this morning in connection with the disappearance of Ciara Breen, who has been missing since 1997.

Ciara Breen was 17 years old when she was reported missing, she was last seen at her home at Bachelors Walk, Dundalk in the early hours of Thursday 13th February 1997.

The man who has been arrested in connection with the investigation into her disappearance is currently detained at Drogheda Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to Ciara’s disappearance or who may have seen her on the night/morning of her disappearance to contact Dundalk Garda Station on 042-9388400, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
