A 38-year-old man has been charged with directing a dissident republican terrorist organisation.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with directing a dissident republican terrorist organisation.

The accused was arrested in north Belfast on Friday by detectives investigating the activities of dissidents in Derry.

He was charged today by detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch.

As well as a count of directing a terrorist organisation, he also faces a charge of membership of a proscribed organisation.

He is due to appear before Derry Magistrates Court tomorrow.
