A 37-year-old man has been arrested after entering an office with a firearm in Co Offaly.

Man arrested after walking into Tullamore office with gun

A 37-year-old man has been arrested after entering an office with a firearm in Co Offaly.

The incident happened at a building on Main Street in Tullamore at around 8.30am this morning.

He was detained by gardaí and the gun was seized at the scene.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

The man is being questioned at Tullamore Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
