A man has been arrested after an apartment fire in Clongriffin in Dublin this evening.

A man has been arrested after an apartment fire in Clongriffin in Dublin this evening.

Six units of the firebigade were called to the scene shortly after 5.30pm and 80 apartments were evacuated.

There are no reports of injuries and the fire is now under control.

The scene is currently preserved and will be technically examined by Gardai when safe to do so.

The man detained has been taken to Coolock Garda station, where he is being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
