Man accused of sexual assault on special needs woman remanded in jail

A man has been remanded to Clover Hill Prison after being charged with the rape of a woman with special needs.

A man has been remanded to Clover Hill Prison after being charged with the rape of a woman with special needs.

The 31-year-old was arrested last Monday and appeared before Dublin District Court this evening.

The victim, who is in her mid twenties, was walking with her mother on the South Circular Road on June 12 when they became separated.

Gardaí believe the woman was then taken to a house in the area where the assault took place.

The man is due back in court next Friday, June 28.
