Majority unhappy with Harney’s performance in health

A majority of voters are unhappy with Mary Harney's performance as Minister for Health, according to a poll published this morning.

A majority of voters are unhappy with Mary Harney's performance as Minister for Health, according to a poll published this morning.

Almost 60% of respondents to The Irish Times/TNS mrbi poll said they believed Ms Harney's appointment had not led to any improvement in the health service.

A similar number also said they believed the abolition of the health boards and the establishment of the Health Service Executive had not led to any improvements.

The highest levels of dissatisfaction were among Dubliners and supporters of Fine Gael, Labour and Ms Harney's own Progressive Democrats.
