Madden: Magee apology 'not enough'

A leading campaigner for victims of clerical child abuse, Andrew Madden, has called on the former Bishop of Cloyne, John Magee, to fully explain his inaction against paedophile priests.

A leading campaigner for victims of clerical child abuse, Andrew Madden, has called on the former Bishop of Cloyne, John Magee, to fully explain his inaction against paedophile priests.

Mr Madden, who is a survivor of clerical abuse, was responding to Bishop Magee's first media interview since the publication of the Cloyne Report last month.

In the interview yesterday, Bishop Magee apologised for failing to protect victims of clerical abuse in his diocese.

But Andrew Madden said "apologies are not enough".
