Luas cross city project unearths bones at Trinity College

The Luas cross-city construction works have been halted after bones were unearthed during digging.

The remains were discovered outside Trinity College's front gate at College Green earlier this afternoon.

Archaeologists will test the remains, and digging has been halted until the results return.

Luas cross city is designed to link the two existing Luas lines, which begin at Connolly Station / The Point on the northside and at Stephen's Green on the southside.

Works have been ongoing in the College Green area since early June.
