Gardaí are continuing to question a woman following a fire at a house Co Louth over the weekend.

Gardaí are continuing to question a woman following a fire at a house Co Louth over the weekend.

A woman in her 70s was asleep at her home on the Chord Road in Drogheda when the fire broke out.

The alarm was raised and a man in his 30s brought the woman to safety.

Both the man and woman were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment. The woman has since been transferred to St James Hospital in Dublin where her condition is described as serious.

Three men who had been arrested in connection with the incident have been released without charge

A 26-year-old woman who was arrested yesterday evening is being questioned by gardaí in Drogheda.
