The Ombudsman for Children Emily Logan has accused the principal of a school in Munster, who refused a pregnant girl a place, of being ''hostile'' and ''defiant''.
The girl was refused twice - once while she was pregnant, and once after her child was born.
The school principal at the State-funded school said he had a duty to protect the ''honourable majority of his pupils''.
Ms Logan said there was a series of offensive exchanges and that the principal objected to her office's investigation.
