Limerick set for 140 new jobs

Some 140 jobs are to created by a Canadian company which specialises in designing manufacturing solutions for production lines.

Optel Vision is to set up a new operations centre at Raheen Business Park in Limerick including its first engineering plant outside North America.

Jobs will be created over three years in engineering, design, assembly, testing, customer support, sales, HR, finance and administration.

Optel Vision specialises in packaging line inspection and control systems for the pharmaceutical, medical devices and chemical industries.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said: “This is an area that offers huge potential for employment right across the country, and it is massively encouraging to see jobs growth return to manufacturing in recent years.”

The expansion is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation through IDA Ireland.
