Licensed vehicles on the rise in Ireland

The number of licensed vehicles in Ireland is continuing to rise and now stands at more than 1.85 million, the Dept of the Environment has announced.

The number of licensed vehicles in Ireland is continuing to rise and now stands at more than 1.85 million, the Dept of the Environment has announced.

It includes just under 1.5 million privately-owned cars, an increase of almost 5% on 2001.

Figures from the Department of the Environment show the number of goods vehicles up by more than 13,000 and the numbers of tractors down by over 1,250.
