A small group of lawyers has walked out of court in protest at cuts to legal aid services.

A small group of lawyers has walked out of court in protest at cuts to legal aid services.

The Criminal Law Practitioners Organisation, which organised the action, would not say how many barristers and solicitors have taken part.

Certain non-custody cases in the District Court have been disrupted.

Spokesman Peter Mullan has said reductions to legal aid payments have made it increasingly difficult for criminal law firms to represent poorer clients.
