Almost 400 people are waiting to be admitted to hospitals across the country today.

The latest report from the INMO shows 387 people are waiting in emergency departments and overflow areas of wards.

University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded with 38 people waiting to be admitted, while University Hospital Waterford is next with 35 people in need of a bed.

Cork University Hospital and the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar both have 25 patients awaiting hospital beds.
