Update 10.09pm: A three-year-old boy who fell from a building in Offaly earlier today has been transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital this evening.

His condition is still being described as serious.

Earlier:

A child is understood to be in a serious condition after falling from a building in Co Offaly this morning.

It is believed the boy, who is thought to be three years old, fell from a building in Edenderry.

He has was removed to Our Lady's Children's hospital, Crumlin in Dublin where his condition is described as serious.

Gardaí say they are aware of the incident and are investigating.
