Latest: No customers will be out of pocket after technical issues, says AIB

Update 6pm: AIB has moved to reassure customers that they will not lose money as a results of today’s technical difficulties.

“All services are now operating as normal,” a statement from the bank read.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to customers today while we experienced some technical issues.

“We want to assure customers that they will not be out of pocket as a result of this.”

Update: 2pm: AIB have said all services are now working, apart from their mobile banking service.

In a recent statement they said: “AIB services are operating as normal with the exception of its mobile banking service.

"We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

"Customers can use internet banking as an alternative during this time.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Update 12.31pm: AIB has issued a statement on today's technical difficulties.

"AIB is experiencing some technical issues online, in branches and on the phone which may affect some transactions," the statement reads.

"AIB customers can continue to withdraw cash from ATMs and make purchases in store and online with their AIB cards.

"Customers can also visit any AIB branch for help with their transactions.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience while this matter is being addressed.

"We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible."

Earlier:

AIB branches across the country are experiencing technical issues.

Customers have also reported being unable to log in to AIB services online or on their phones.

AIB have said they are aware of the issue and are working on a resolution.
