Update 8.55pm: Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information over a shooting incident that happened on the South Circular Road in Dublin last night.

Gardaí at Kevin Street Garda Station want to hear from anyone who may have been in the area of South Circular Road, St. Alban's Road, Dublin 8, between 8-10pm last night.

They particularly want to speak to anyone who may have seen a black or dark coloured Lexus car which was reported to have been in the area at the time, also any drivers who have dashcams fitted to their vehicles are asked to contact to contact Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 666 9400, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Update 12.22pm: Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the latest shooting in Dublin.

An investigation is underway after two men sustained gun shot wounds in the attack.

Two men in their 40s and 20s were shot just before 10pm last night on the South Circular Road, near the National Stadium.

They are being treated for non-life threatening injuries this afternoon in St. James's Hospital.

The older man was injured in his leg and the other suffered an injury to his hand. 

It is understood the gunman left the scene in a dark-coloured car.

Update 9.12am: Gardaí investigating double shooting near Dublin's National Boxing Stadium

Gardaí are investigating a shooting in Dublin last night and remain at the scene this morning.

Two men were injured during the incident which happened just before 10pm near the National Stadium where juvenile boxing championships were being held.

Gardaí responded to a call relating to gun shots being fired at around 9.44pm yesterday.

When they arrived at the scene on the South Circular Road, a man in his 40s and a man in his 20s were discovered with non life-threatening gunshot injuries after a gunman opened fire. 

The older man was injured in his leg and the other suffered an injury to his hand. 

Both men were taken to St James Hospital for treatment.

The gunman is reported as leaving the scene in what is described as a dark coloured car. 

The South Circular road is closed from Leonard's corner to Donore Avenue and is expected to remain closed for most of the day.

Gardaí in Kevin Street are appealing for witnesses or anyone who can help with the investigation to contact them or the Garda Confidential Telephone Line.

Earlier: Gardaí continue to investigate Dublin shooting which has left two injured near National Boxing Stadium

Gardaí are investigating a shooting in Dublin last night and remain at the scene this morning.

The South Circular road is closed from Leonard’s Corner to Donore Avenue and is expected to remain closed for most of the day.

Two men were injured during the incident which happened just before 10pm.

A 44-year-old man, who is known to Gardaí and another man were shot at around 9:45pm on the South Circular Road last night.

Emergency services attended the scene where they were both treated for their injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Gardaí sealed off the area for a time and closed the road.

The incident took place near the National Stadium, where juvenile boxing championships were being held.

This latest shooting comes a week after the 14th murder as part of the ongoing gangland feud.
